ABOUT THE FILTERS

The HEPA 500 utilizes a 2-stage filtration system designed with the most advanced HEPA filtration technology available. The first stage utilizes a pre-filter, and the second a HEPA filter. The pre-filter captures larger particles, and the HEPA filter captures 99.97% of smaller particles down to 0.3 microns. For environments with a high volume of aerosolized particles, you can use 2 prefilters to extend the life of the HEPA filter. See “Maintenance” for how often to replace filters.

Changing filters 1. With a 3/8" wrench, loosen the 8 latches holding the inlet panel in place. Slide the latches outward, away from the center of the inlet panel. 3. Remove the inlet panel. 4. Remove used filters and replacements.

DETERMINING THE CFM NEEDED

1. Calculate the room's volume in cubic feet. To do this, multiply the square footage by the ceiling height. If the floor has an area of 500 square feet (Multiply the length by width) and 8ft ceilings.

500x8 = 4,000 cubic feet of volume

2. Multiply the room's volume (in cubic feet) by 6 to find the total cubic feet of filtration needed per hour.

4,000 cubic feet x 6 = 24,000 cubic feet per hour

3. Divide the total cubic feet per our by 60 to convert to cubic feet per minute (CFM)

24,000 cubic feet per hour/ 60 minutes = 400 CFM
